3 Jazzy Cocktails

We want to celebrate the international jazz day with some cocktails that are perfect to enjoy a day full of good music.

Every year on the 30th of April we should celebrate with amazing music and even better cocktails.

Jazz hands

Ingredients 

  • 50 ml whiskey 
  • 25 ml orange liqueur 
  • 25 ml Campari
  • 15 ml cranberry juice 
  • Garnish: Orange wheel, cinnamon stick, cranberries

Tools 

  • Mixing glass
  • Jigger(to measure) 
  • Collins glass
  • Cocktail strainer
  • Tea strainer

The how to 

Before preparing your cocktail add to your serving glass all your garnish alternatively with the ice.

In your mixing glass add the whiskey, cranberry juice, orange liqueur and Campari. Stir well to get it chilled and mixed. Double strain your mix over ice in your glass. 

  • You can also serve this in a coupe glass with no ice


Jazz it up

Ingredients 

  • 50 ml gin
  • 1 egg white 
  • 15 ml lime juice
  • 15 ml passion fruit syrup
  • Lime soda 
  • Garnish: 2-3 drops raspberry syrup

Tools 

  • Collins glass
  • Shaker
  • Cocktail strainer
  • Tea strainer
  • Jigger


The how to

In your shaker add the gin, egg white, lime juice and passion fruit syrup. Shake well without ice to create a foamy texture.  After the foamy texture is achieved add ice and shake well again, until chilled.

Double strain the mix in your glass with no ice. 

Slowly top the glass with your lime soda. Make sure to pout through the middle of the glass to create a tunnel. Through the tunnel add the 2-3 drops of syrup.


Nothing but jazz

Ingredients 

  • 75ml white wine 
  • 25 ml fresh lime juice 
  • 15 ml peach syrup 
  • 50 ml peach soda/ peach flavoured sparkling water  
  • Ice
  • Garnish: dry peach wheel

Tools 

  • Wine tumbler
  • Spoon

The how too

In your glass add the lime juice, peach syrup and peach soda. Give it a stir. 

Add ice and the wine and stir again. Put in the garnish as you wish or take a big sip as it is, this will be delicious.


3 Alcohol Infused Treats

If you are looking for some new ways of impressing your friends or just making your party better we come up with some ideas. 

Let’s make something tasty here.


The traditional gummy bears

Well you can actually do this with any kind of jellies. I am a fan of the apple sour loops so that is what i will use to make this recipe.   

Ingredients 

  • 500 ml vodka
  • 100 ml absinthe
  • 500 g of apple loops

Tools 

  • Jar 
  • Spoon 
  • 1 l mason jar

The how to 

In your mason jar stuff you apple loops and pour on the vodka and absinthe. Give it a stir and leave it to soak for 24 hours.

You can serve this in small shot glasses or small plates and garnish with mint leaves and lime wedge


Peachy ice pops 

This is whenever you crave some strong ice cream on a warm summer day.

Ingredients 

  • 250 ml rum
  • 50 ml peach syrup
  • Sprite
  • 50 ml lime juice 
  • Peach slices (thin cut)

Tools 

  • 4 space mould 
  • Spoon
  • Mixing glass

The how to 

In your mixing glass add the rum, peach syrup, lime juice and 100 ml sprite. Mix well, pour the liquid in equal parts in the ice cream moulds. Put in the peach slices and tot the rest with more sprite. Put them in the freezer overnight. 


Boozy fruits 

The healthier version of the gummy bears.

Ingredients 

  • 250 ml rum
  • 250 ml brandy 
  • 3 apples 
  • 2 pears 
  • 2 peaches
  • 2 cloves and 2 cinnamon sticks

Tools 

  • 2 jars 
  • Mixing glass
  • soon

The how to 

In your mixing glass add the rum, brandy, cloves and cinnamon sticks. Mix well. Cut your fruits and put them in your jars, fish the cinnamon sticks and cloves and put one of each in your jars. Pour the mix in and close the jar.


3 Earth day Cocktails

We want to celebrate Earth day with some cocktails that are vegan, no waste and delicious!

Earth day is celebrated on the 22 of April, first celebrated in 1970 and it is held to demonstrate support for environmental protection.

Let’s invest in our planet with some tasty cocktails. Just to make sure we are waste free we will base this cocktail on maximum 4 ingredients that can either be reused or composted.

Forest green

Ingredients 

  • 50 ml gin
  • 1/2 rosemary sprig
  • 5 basil leaves
  • 20 ml lime juice
  • Ice
  • Garnish: 1/2 rosemary sprig

Tools 

  • Cocktail strainer
  • Shaker
  • Tea strainer 
  • Rocks glass

The how to 

In your shaker add the gin, rosemary sprig, lime juice and basil leaves. Shake well. Double strain the mix in your glass over ice, and garnish with the other half of the rosemary sprig


Red rivers

Ingredients 

  • 50 ml Vodka
  • 5 raspberries
  • 5 blackberries
  • 15 ml lemon juice
  • Ice
  • Garnish: no garnish needed

Tools 

  • Cocktail strainer
  • Shaker
  • Tea strainer 
  • Muddler
  • Rocks glass


The how to 

Firstly, in your glass add the raspberries and press them with your muddler until you get a paste consistency. Add ice.

In your shaker add the vodka, lemon juice, blackberries and ice. Shake well. Double strain the mix over ice in your glass.


Golden sunset

Ingredients 

  • 100 ml white wine
  • 3 orange wheels
  • 2 lemon wheel
  • 1 lime wheel
  • Ice

Tools 

  • Wine glass

The how to 

In your glass add alternatively the ice cubes and citrus wheel. Before putting them in just make sure you give them a little squeeze. Add you favourite white wine and enjoy.


3 Fruit Infused Vodkas- Homemade

If you do not want to spend money on flavoured vodka, make your own tasty drink at home. 

We made three tasty flavoured drinks just for you and today’s team is Fruits

Let’s get to it!


Bitter orange vodka 

Ingredients 

  • 1 bottle of vodka (750 ml)
  • 200 g dry orange peels

Tools 

  • 1 L mason jar 
  • Spoon
  • Fine strainer 


The how to 

If you eat a lot of oranges, do not throw your peels. Dry them and grind them(optional). let them dry for 3 to 5 days. I personally dry grind them, I feel like the flavour is stronger that way. 

Now this is easy, in your mason jar add your dry orange peels  and your vodka. Close it and shake. Leave 24h and enjoy it after. 

When you are ready to use it make sure you strain it well so there will be no orange peels in your drink. 


Raspberry vodka

Ingredients 

  • 1 bottle of vodka (750 ml)
  • 300 g fresh raspberries 

Tools 

  • 1 L mason jar 
  • Fine strainer


The how to 

In your mason jar add your fresh raspberries and your vodka. Close it and shake. Leave 24h and enjoy it after. 

Make sure you strain it before you use it. 


Passion Vodka

Ingredients 

  • 1 bottle of vodka
  • 7 passion fruits

Tools 

  • 1 L mason jar 
  • Spoon
  • Fine strainer


The how to 

Scoop the inside of the  passion fruits in your jar and add the vodka. Shake it well and let it sit for 24h. Before use it make sure you stain it.

3 Homemade Infused Vodkas

If you do not want to spend money on flavored vodka, make your own tasty drink at home.

Skittles vodka 

Ingredients 

  • 1 bottle of vodka
  • 2 skittles bags

Tools 

  • 1 L mason jar 


The how to 

Now this is easy, in your mason jar add your skittles and your vodka. Close it and shake. Leave 24h and enjoy it after. 


Black Liquorice Candy 

Ingredients 

  • 1 bottle of vodka
  • 250 g liquorice 

Tools 

  • 1 L mason jar


The how to 

In your mason jar add your licoricey and your vodka. Close it and shake. Leave 24h and enjoy it after. 


Eucalyptus hard candy

Ingredients 

  • 1 bottle of vodka
  • 250 g eucalyptus candy

Tips for cooking with less salt and sugar

Why is too much salt bad for us?

Actually, there are studies that show  the way that salt affects us is mostly genetically based. It is true that an excess is not good, but to be fair, any type of excess in not good.  

That is why I will not say why salt is not good for us. if you want to know the effect off consuming salt will have on your body I suggest you go see a doctor. If you have a heart condition the higher the chances that eating too much salt might affect you. 

But with these 6 tips we might make it easier for you to avoid salt consumption. 

  1. Use lots of herbs and spices. Feel free to experiment, but do not opt ​​for a spice mix with salt the easiest way is to make your own mix! 
  2. Opt for a low- sodium salt  or choose products that have a naturally salty taste, but that have no added salt. 
  3. Use umami making to still create that salt effect. Umami can be found in ripe tomatoes, mushrooms, onions, peas, peppers, seaweed and fermented products such as Kimchi.
  4. Switching to lemon juice replaces the taste of salt in many dishes. And it is healthy too. Usually one teaspoon will do. 
  5. Use fresh, unprocessed products as much as possible . For example, make your pasta sauce yourself!
  6. Soy sauce is often mentioned and a very good salt substitute. But 

Why is too much sugar bad for us?

Unfortunately nowadays it is hard to avoid sugar. You can find it in almost everything. 

Experts believe that sugar consumption is a major cause of obesity and many chronic diseases, such as type 2 diabetes.

There are a lot of effects that too much sugar can have on your body like gaining weight, increasing the risk of heart disease, acne, depression, diabetes, it can drain your energy and so on. 

But with these 6 tips we might make it easier for you to avoid sugar consumption. 

  1. Cut back on sugar filled drinks like sodas, canned coffees, energy drinks, sport drinks and so on. Make your own at home. Instead of sodas opt for a fruity sparkling water. 
  2. Avoid store sauces and make your own, be creative!
  3. Eat whole foods and cook from scratch.
  4. Read labels and compare products. 
  5. Consider natural sweeteners like: stevia. 
  6. Get enough sleep and don’t shop when you are hungry!

But in the end, we should not be that drastic, we can not do without salt or sugar so do not take this like you shout take it out of your diet.

  • 50 ml Absolut Pear and Elderflower juice Vodka 
  • 15 ml lime juice
  • 15 ml grapefruit juice 
  • 30 ml Sprite  
  • Ice 
  • Garnish: thin cut grapefruit wheel

  • Cocktail strainer
  • Shaker

The how to 

In your shaker add vodka, lime juice, grapefruit juice, ice and shake well. Double strain the mix in your glass over ice. Add the sprite and stir well. Garnish with your grapefruit wheel.


Ball Room

Ingredients 

  • 75 ml Absolut  Pear and Elderflower juice Vodka
  • 25 ml lime juice
  • 15 ml watermelon syrup
  • 1 egg white 
  • Ice
  • Garnish: rose petals

Tools 

  • Cocktail strainer
  • Shaker
  • Tea strainer 
  • Coupe glass


The how to 

In your shaker add the vodka, lime juice, watermelon syrup, one egg white and shake well with no ice to form the foam. Add ice until well chilled. Double strain the mix in your glass with no ice. Add the rose petals in the glass as garnish.


Droplet

Ingredients 

  • 75 ml Absolut  Pear and Elderflower juice Vodka
  • 25 ml elderflower liqueur 
  • 15 ml lavender syrup
  • Champagne
  • Ice
  • Garnish: lemon peel

Tools 

  • Flute 
  • Mixing glass
  • Cocktail strainer

The how to 

In your mixing glass add ice to the top. Add the vodka and elderflower syrup in and stir until well chilled. Strain the mix in your glass . Top the glass with champagne. Add the lavender syrup. Squeeze the lemon peel on top and drop in the glass.

  • 1 thyme sprig
  • 25 ml pear syrup
  • 15 ml lime juice
  • Ice
  • Garnish: pear slice

The how to 

In your shaker add the whiskey, egg white, orange bitters, thyme sprig, lime juice and pear syrup. Shake well with no ice to form a foamy texture. Add ice and shake again to chill the mix. Double strain the mix in your glass over ice and garnish with a dry pear slice.


Still frozen

Ingredients 

  • 75 ml white rum
  • 75 ml coconut milk
  • 50 ml white chocolate syrup
  • Ice
  • garnish: chocolate eggs

The how to 

In your blender add ice, rum, coconut milk and your chocolate syrup. Blend well. Scoop the mix in your glass and garnish with the extra chocolate eggs.


Easter sangria

Ingredients

  • 25 ml raspberry syrup
  • Ice
  • Garnish: 5 fresh raspberries, 1 orange wheel

Ingredients 

  • 50 ml Absolut Passion Fruit Vodka 
  • 25 ml mango juice
  • 15 ml lime juice
  • 15 ml grenadine syrup  
  • Ice: cubes and crushed
  • Garnish: thin mango slice

Tools 

  • Cocktail strainer
  • Shaker

The how to 

In your shaker add vodka, mango juice, lime juice, ice and shake well. Double strain it over your crushed ice in your glass. Add the grenadine syrup uniformly on top of the ice. Place the mango slice in the middle of the ice not all the way through.

The how to

Ingredients 

  • 50 ml Absolut Passion Fruit Vodka 
  • 15 ml dry Vermouth 
  • Ice 
  • Orange peel 
  • Garnish: rosemary branch  

Tools 

  • Mixing glass
  • Bar spoon 
  • Cocktail strainer 
  • Martini glass 

The how to 

In your mixing glass that is full with ice add your vodka and dry vermouth. Stir well, minimum 30 seconds. Keep in mind the dilution. Strain the mix in your chill, no ice martini glass. Squeeze the orange peel oils on top of the glass. Add the rosemary spring to the glass as garnish.


3 healthy and non-alcoholic cocktails

You can drink something fancy with no alcohol and you can get some extra point if you can make it healthy as well, nut just a mix of sugary drinks with different taste.

A while ago I wanted to quit drinking but I knew I will miss having cocktails…so “WHAT DO”? I took the challenge and created for myself only cocktails with what i had in the house and tried to stay away from sugar as well.

All Ts

Ingredients 

  • 100 ml fresh Jasmin tea
  • 10 – 12 fresh mint leaves
  • a fresh half peach cut in cubes
  • 15 ml lime juice
  • Ice
  • Garnish: extra fresh mint leaves, thin peach slice, lime wheel

Tools 

  • Cocktail strainer
  • Shaker
  • Tea strainer 
  • Collins glass
  • Pot
  • Muddler

The how to 

First brew your tea as you like. In your shaker add the fresh mint leaves and press them gently with your muddler. Add the peach cubes and do the same. Pour in your hot tea and let it sit for 10 minutes. Before touching the shaker(it will be hot), add a scope of ice. Add you lime juice and shake well. Double strain the mix over ice in your glass and garnish with the extra mint leaves, lime wheel and peach slice.


Lavender note

Ingredients 

  • 50 ml sparkling water
  • 75 ml water
  • 15 ml lemon juice
  • a tea spoon of lavender bulbs
  • 5 to 7 fresh blackberries
  • Ice
  • Garnish: 2-3 extra fresh blackberries

Tools 

  • Cocktail strainer
  • Shaker
  • Tea strainer 
  • Muddler
  • Rocks glass


The how to 

In your shaker add the lavender bulbs and press them with your muddler. Add the blackberries, water and lemon juice. Add your ice and shake well. Double strain the mix over ice in your glass. Add your sparkling water and garnish with your extra blackberries.


Brown sangria

Ingredients 

  • 500 ml black coffee
  • 4 orange wheels
  • 1 star anise
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 3 cut strawberries
  • Ice
  • Garnish: orange wheel

Tools 

  • Pot
  • Rocks glass

The how to 

First part of making this cocktail will need you to prepare a back coffee (make it as you like). After the coffee is cold add your orange wheels, star anise, strawberries and cinnamon stick to it and leave it over night in the fridge.

For serving, add ice to your glass and the orange wheel as well. strain some coffee sangria in your glass and sip. Add some water if the taste is too strong.
